My tests for the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED

by Nico Tranquilli on Mar.28, 2009, under Photos

I’ve just been pixel-peeping some comparison shots between my latest buy (a 17-55 f/2.8 Nikkor lens) to other lens I own.
Nothing scientific or comprehensive but hopefully enough to determine whether the new lens is superior to the older ones.

If interested, read on…

Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G AF-S ED IF DX

by Nico Tranquilli on Mar.23, 2009, under Gears, Photos

I’ve been drooling over this expensive Nikon pro-grade fixed f/2.8 zoom lens for a while and I finally got one.
First impressions: stellar wide open performance at all focal lengths as promised, nice pleasant bokeh, focus fast even in dim light, beautiful color rendition and contrast, tack sharp. The only cons so far is the stiff zoom ring.
