The Mille Miglia was an open-road endurance race which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957.

Since 1977, the name was revived as the Mille Miglia Storica, a parade for pre-1957 cars that takes several days..

Here’s some shots I took yesterday night in Bologna, while the race crossed the historical city center.

Ferrara Balloons Festival is one of the largest festivals of hot air ballooning in Europe, with numerous teams from Italy and other parts of the world bringing their traditional or uniquely shaped aircraft.

The festival also features concerts, shows, entertainment and a grand Village of the Air with numerous attractions, shops and food outlets.

Until a few decades the so called "Casoni" were lodges for the lagoon folk in their long stays for work in the lagoon.
